Most frustrating crash story.

Ok, this is the thread to recount the moment when you were just about to beat Dark Crusade. . . and you computer freezes, forcing you to reboot and play the last five levels over. Or your Playstation stopped reading Disk Three of Final Fantasy Seven. Or the day when suddenly, out of the blue, Megaman stopped working, no matter how hard you blew into the cartridge.

My tale is that of Mideval Total War. I have a bizare symbyosis with my brother on the subject of games like Mideval, and it's fairly straightforward. I am a wiz at managing an ecconomy and build order, he's a brilliant tactician with a wall of spearmen to let the enemy wash against. We were a brillient team, and as the Egyptians had plowed our way across asia minor and into europe and Russia. Then, somthing happened.
I think it was the Turks who rebeled when that minor noble declared himself thier rightful king, I don't remember. All I can remember is the panic as thousands of troops appeared in just one province. My brother, stoic as always gathered his meager forces and prepared to defend with fewer than 500 men against a force more than ten times his size.
It was not a tough fight. enemy morale was low, and he was using weak units and light cavalry. The worst part was the wait, where the enemy was retreating and the next wave coming in. We didn't dare leave, because the whole thing was very risky, and we did NOT want to lose that province.
And then, just when we were a minute away from winning, the last troops routed and running. . . The game froze. I'm fairly even tempered, but not so my brother. He's got a bad temper, and it's only gotten darker since he was young. He was pissed off, and never played that save file again. I didn't blame him.
