I thought the Russians were Erusia, the enemy in AC4.
Infinite ammo for the machine guns is only for Easy difficulty, every other difficulty level gets you 500-800 bullets, depeding on the plane.

You missed the fact that all the Yuktobanians had cod Russian accents?
There isn't really an analogue for Erusea, or the ISAF states.

Anyone know if the flight sticks that were sold with Ace Combat 5 will be compatible with this new one?

true. You might be able to make a case for it being an analogue to the balkan conflicts, though.

should be. So should the AC04 one.

I'm not sure about the flightstick, it didn't work on the demo, as far as reports I've heard had it. But that may just have been lack of support in the demo itself.
I wish the proper X-36 would be picked up by the game's drivers. It's the same fucking joystick, and I've got one of those.

I missed AC5 in its entirety exept for the previews, due to the fact that I can't afford it. Luckily, I've managed to remain unspoiled so far.

Erusea gives me WWII Germany vibes. Exept without the attrocities, and they were fucked-over by an asteroid rather than a Treaty + Global Depression. ISAF kind of seems what the European Union would be like if they got their act together. They even have their own Gread Britain analogue, it's called North Point.

Fixed correctly.
Also, I might have to actually play this game.
Far too many fixes needed here. I assume this is on PS2 again anyway.
Yes, all hail the P-38

-snip picture-
The American with the most confirmed kills flew a P-38, I think the same goes for the second placer. On the other hand, no American comes even close to what the members of Japan's "Clean-up Trio" accomplished. I think they had over 200 between the three of them.

I'm not sure how much prior knowledge of Ace Combat 5 is going to be assumed by Ace Combat Zero, but it is a prequel, and may explain a lot that you should probably not know going in to AC5.
I'd reccommend picking up AC5 and thrashing through it before you get Zero. (Having an AC5 savegame will also unlock a special plane in ACZero, so will an AC4 save)

I meant that I've never heard the Yuktobanians speak, so I couldn't know that they had Russian accents.

I was told they'd made it realistic in the latest incarnations. Evidently not, which is what puts me off these games in the first place. And you'll never get a sim on a console, it's not doable without a keyboard and decent joystick, plus, no one with a console wants a 400 page manual to play. We have PCs for that.
Keyboard and 'decent' joystick???
Try HOTAS stick and throttle with rudder pedals. And wear a helmet with shades.

That first link is incorrect about the Japanese. Their top (top two?) had 80 something.

the link states that part of the numbers are:
Therefore the following list must be taken for what it represents, a set of
claims that contain a combination of pseudo-official and personal claims, often
representing a mixture of confirmed, unconfirmed, probables and damaged claims.
i don't know if ACIG have a list, but if you have a better source, i'll be happy to upgrade my bookmarks :)

Ace Combat isn't really an "Arcade" shooter. Its just a fighter pilots wet dream. Hell, in Afterburner, you only had like 2 missiles! THAT was a true Arcade game.
That said, I sorta wish that you didn't get 60+ missiles myself. I suppose I want SOME semblance of realism, unless its in an unlockable fap machine like the Falken jet with the laser.
When a new Ace Combat game comes out, I find myself wanting to hear the soundtrack just about as much as I want to play the actual game. Is that wrong?

I've got a an Ace Combat question. I picked up a PS2 last week with a copy of AC4. I've played through it and beat it, but how do I unlock the X-02? Right now I'm playing it using the F-14A and the Su-37. By the way, how good are the flight sticks that came in the AC5 bundle?
