I still play Championship Manager 2, despite being driven crazy by it sometimes.
Then there's Star Trek Armada, with it's various mods, Worms, recently reinstalled, always good for a laugh, and Colonization, which unfortunately won't install anymore, corrupted disk
Still, just think folks, Master of Orion has gone gold and will be with us soon. Then the true addictions begin

He has EVERY version of C&C going so far as to get the original Dune 2 for a laugh and he takes over my comp once a week. Personally i hate it.
LOL
Reminds me of my dad. I downloaded the Tiberian Dawn demo around that time and got my dad to play it. He spent seven hours playing the second mission.
Mike: You should do what he does in TS, play it on the highest speed against the hardest AI.
Ever played Total Annihilation?
Dont: It will suck up your life, and kill this site.

Yes, those RTSes can get pretty addictive.
But you should check out C&C: Red Alert 2. Two words: Kari Wuhrer. In a loose-fitting tank top and a habit of leaning over tables toward the camera.
And I know what it's like to be addicted to a game, and unable to stop playing. I was up until 3 a.m. last night playing Final Fantasy X. Didn't stop until I had beaten Seymour's pansy-ass on the Highbridge.
Aeon Overdrives 0wnz0r j00!
PC wise, I can remember fondly (or not so fondly) losing hours of my life playing Star Trek TNG: Birth of the Federation, Imperialism, Imperium Galactica, MechCommander, and MechCommander 2.
I'm not so much a PC gamer anymore, though. I've had ST DS9: The Fallen and Homeworld for six months now and haven't yet played them. Same thing for HW: Cataclysm, which I got back around November.

Doom. And Doom 2. And Quake. and Quake 2. And Quake 3.
Haven't played SC recently, although I might be restarting soon.

My son wanted to play Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun because the CD looks cool. So I installed it on his computer, and helped him play a few missions. Now, I can't stop playing this damned game!
My mind screams STOP! It's a stupid game where one-unit massed charge attacks rule the day, 5 machine-gunners can take down a tank, and mecha roam the countryside. But I keep playing it anyway.
Help!
Quick Wong! Get Total Annihilation, not only is it addicting, but it is more realistic.

Still filled with fuckloads of mecha, one giant uber mecha if you have the expansions. Though at least there are also normal vehicles, and aircraft and ships and fixed artillery with which to blast the shit out of them.

Neverwinter Nights consumed approximately 155.35 hours of my time before I solved it. Insane addiction level

I have nudies of her.
As for Tiberian Sun... eh, I liked it, but I really miss the nukes. I love nukes. Oh sure, there's the "multi-missile" and the "ion-cannon", but they're not as satisfying as seeing a mushroom cloud go up over your enemy's base.

But Wong, be prepared to withold any pocket money from your kids since C&C: Generals comes out in a few weeks. The difference between the first C&C games and that is amazing.
Then there is MoOIII.
You will suddenly lose months of your life.
Ahh... There's a classic game. I made a few modifications with a program I had... Full Wormage is so fun

Last time I checked, Kbots are inferior to tanks.

Download some mods for it. I like the Ultima mod, ask and I'll give you the URL for a website where you can download it.

I have been re-infected by Alpha Centauri.
And the only reason for me not to play System Shock 2 again is that my WinXP won't let it run...

System shock to me seemed very like Deus Ex. Only older and more dated. Maybe it's just me.

Yeah, i was a Barbarian in D2 and was mildly addicted, then LOD came out and I couldn't stop playing as the Druid! Fuck Saruman with his Wargs and Ravens, you want a Wolf and Corvid army you should watch my Druid in action

, plus you get lots of vines (I pretend they're eating vegetarians as a form of revenge

There needs to be a Macross RTS. Largely because I want to send huge Monster formations to break up attacks of Zentraedi battle pods.

But Krogzilla ain't.
But seriously, TA is loads of fun. The large mecha are actually the game's version of
infantry(yep, the tanks are even bigger than that!), and you can do nasty things like planning a multi-pronged assault, with Preliminary Nuclear Strikes(but watch out for anti-nukes), Sea Bombardment, and Air Suppourt... Then unpausing the game, and just wathing it play out(bring popcorn), occasionally altering the plan when something goes wrong.
Or you could just build four Nuclear silos, build four to six missiles in each, and wipe the entire enemy base off the face of the planet in a series of quadruple simultanous nuke salvos.
