Considering all the various posts that say they want to be with a hot girl but there is no way in all hell it will happen, I feel pretty much the same way. But the reason why is because I'm a quiet person and don't really know how to approach this whole dating concept. It doesn't fit my personality to just walk up to a girl and ask her out on a date. And I'm not the smoothest person either. Plus, I am not 100% certain if there is any attraction between I and certain girls I am interested in. I'm just wondering, what are your reasons why it's impossible? Is it something similar to this, or is it completely different? You don't have to answer why it is different if you don't want to. I just want to know if you have a similar situation as I do.

Doesn't work, I know many guys who are very successful with the ladies and its something that's almost inborn I think. You certainly can't teach it.

Thanks for the invite Einy, I'd love to meet ya in person but if i went to America i'd never leave that plus the 700 quid flight fare would be kinda a killer. Much cheaper to hide in the pub and drink till i'm unconsious.

For me it's like 'Yeah, I'm ready, I'm willing, there's no reason why I shouldn't do this, I'll probably never see her again so why not fuck everything and try?"

And then when I make up my mind to go up to them, something just keeps me from opening my mouth. I'm a pretty quiet person in front of strangers so I think I know what IRGCommandoJoe means. I think it's just some kind of inner reflex... you're putting your ego on the line here and subconciously, you don't want to risk it.

For me it is blind-ass luck. I get lucky or I don't. Never really seemed to be skill involved.

My plans for Valentine's Day:

Be totally bored. I want to sit and stare at a computer screen lke a zombie, with nobody to talk to on the phone, and nobody bothering me at all. Even better, I'll watch a comedy like Resident Evil.

Admission time. I work 12 hour days, W-F, from 8pm-8am. During the day I sleep, at night I work. If I have to do anything, it means a program crashed and I have to fix it. If I have to call someone, that means the program has crashed in a really bad way, and I have to call backups and managers. Saturday though, I plan to go out with a cute friend. Not girlfriend, just friend.

alcohol helps. makes you able to talk, you dont care if you get turned down but proceed to the next, it makes you funny.

you must consider that you have the right amount of alcohol.

1 beer = wrong

10 beers+ 10 jägermeister = totally wrong

if you´re an anti alcoholic = tough shit

Oh wait the question was what I want to do not who . Well I would like to go out for a nice romatic dinner with a girl I know, but that isn't gonna happen, because her boyfriend would not really approve.
What I will be doing, the same as I did last year throwing a party to distract myself.

As for what I'd like to do...it has nothing to do with Valentine's Day, actually, but since V-Day is quickly approaching and I'd love to do this sometime soon, I can just post it here and swoon away to my heart's content and not really be dishonouring my "Valentine's Day is Stupid" motto...

I've had friends hit on women's coats because of alcohol...who know the alcohol could be more receptive then the coat

Thanks Ghost Rider, Spanky. I hope it comes true too, but I'm not holding my breath. There's still a fair bit to go before I get there. Maybe it should be my St. Paddy's Day wish instead...

Who cares Valentines day is a holiday buffed up by the candy/flower companies and used by ppl in relationships to make ppl not in relationships, like me, feel bad. I HATE VALENTINES DAY.
